Tertiary Crushers
Tertiary Crushers are high-performance rotor crushers designed to process medium-hard, slightly abrasive materials coming from secondary crushers in crushing-screening plants to produce high-throughput sand in the 0-5 mm range. Thanks to their high-speed rotor design and specialized crushing chamber, they specialize in producing the cubic and fine aggregates required for concrete and asphalt production.
Working Principle: High Speed and Effective Crushing
The operating principle of tertiary crushers is based on the conversion of high kinetic energy into an effective crushing force:
- Material enters the crusher's feed port and strikes the paddles on the high-speed rotating rotor. This initial, powerful impact initiates the material's fragmentation.
- Material hurtling at high speeds strikes specially designed crushing plates, called pendulums, located on the crusher's inner walls. This impact causes the material to break again.
- This "blow and impact" cycle, repeated many times within the crushing chamber, ensures that the material reaches the desired fine size and cubic form.
- The ability of the rotor to rotate in both directions allows wear on both surfaces of the tracks, extending component life and reducing maintenance costs.
- The final product size is controlled by easily adjusting the distance between the rotor and the pendulums with a hydraulic system.
Advantages and Application Areas
Tertiary crushers offer high efficiency and low operating costs, especially in sand and gravel production.
- Highly Fine Material: Thanks to its high rotation speed, it has the capacity to convert the fed material into sand of 0-5 mm size at a high rate.
- Perfect Cubicity: The impact crushing principle results in a stress-reduced, high-cubic ratio final product. This directly improves the quality of concrete and asphalt.
- Double Rotor: The ability of the rotor to rotate in both directions doubles the wear life of the tracks and extends maintenance intervals.
- Easy Maintenance and Adjustment: The body structure, which can be opened with hydraulic pistons, makes pallet and liner changes quick and safe. Product size adjustments are also easily made via the hydraulic system.
- Low Operating Cost: Thanks to optimized wear parts and efficient crushing mechanism, operating and maintenance costs are low.
