Secondary Impact Crushers

Secondary Impact Crushers are rotor-type crushers designed to process medium- to low-hardness, slightly abrasive materials with high efficiency in crushing and screening plants. They are typically used to reduce material from primary crushers to smaller sizes, but due to their high reduction ratios, they can sometimes perform both secondary and tertiary crushing operations on their own. These machines are ideal for achieving the high cubic density of final products, particularly sought after in concrete and asphalt aggregate production.

Working Principle: Multiple Impact and Breaking

The working principle of secondary impact crushers is based on breaking the material by high-speed impacts and collisions:

  • The material entering the crusher through the feed mouth is met with a violent impact by the special alloy pallets (hammers) on the rotor rotating at high speed.
  • The material broken down by this first impact is thrown towards the adjustable crushing plates (pendulums) located on the inner walls of the crusher.
  • The material is crushed again by striking the pendulums and is reflected back in the direction of rotor motion. This cycle repeats itself within the crushing chamber until the material reaches the desired final size.
  • Crushed material is discharged through an adjustable outlet opening at the bottom of the crusher. Hydraulic adjustment of the distance between the pendulums and the rotor allows precise control of final product size.

Key Features and Benefits

STS Global Makina secondary impact crushers offer a number of superior features to increase operational efficiency and product quality:

  • High Reduction Ratio: It significantly reduces large-sized materials in a single step, increasing the overall efficiency of the facility.
  • Superior Cubicity: Impact crushing produces stress-reduced, angular, and cubic aggregates. This meets the demand for high-quality aggregates, particularly in concrete and asphalt production.
  • Wide Range of Materials: It is suitable for processing medium and low hardness, slightly abrasive materials such as Limestone and dolomite.
  • High Capacity: It meets the needs of projects of different sizes with capacities ranging from 120 tons to 350 tons per hour.
  • Easy Maintenance and Adjustment: Thanks to hydraulic systems, the distance between the crushing plates and the rotor can be easily adjusted. The hydraulic opening of the crusher body makes replacing wear parts (paddles, pendulums) and general maintenance quick and safe.
  • Low Operating Costs: Thanks to its optimized design and durable wear parts, it offers long-lasting use and low spare parts consumption.
  • Flexibility: It can be used effectively in both stationary crushing-screening plants and mobile crushing units.

Our DMK series secondary impact crushers offer an ideal solution for crushing and screening plants, with their high capacity and low operating costs, especially in converting materials such as limestone and dolomite into suitable aggregates for asphalt and concrete production.
