Primary Impact Crushers

Primary Impact Crushers (PICs) are rotor crushers designed for high-performance processing of medium-hard, low-abrasive materials (such as limestone) in crushing and screening plants. Their high reduction ratios allow them to perform both primary and secondary crushing operations with a single machine. This makes them an ideal solution for mobile crushing units and more compact plant designs.

Working Principle: Crushing with Kinetic Energy

The operating principle of primary impact crushers is based on the effects of "impact" and "impact":

• The material fed into the crusher by the feeder is met with a large kinetic energy by the paddles on the rotor rotating at high speed.
• The material crushed by this first impact is thrown towards specially designed crushing plates called pendulums located on the inner walls of the crusher.
• The material is crushed again by hitting the pendulums and then returned to the rotor's direction of motion. This cycle is repeated within the crushing chamber until the material reaches the desired size.
• The crushed final product is discharged through the outlet opening at the bottom of the crusher. The distance between the pendulums and the rotor is hydraulically adjusted to easily control the final product size.
