Cone Crushers

Cone crushers are high-performance machines used in crushing and screening plants, particularly in the secondary and tertiary crushing stages of hard, abrasive, and high-silica materials (basalt, granite, river material, etc.). Their significantly lower wear costs compared to impact crushers make them the most efficient and economical solution for such demanding applications.

Working Principle: Crushing by Compression

The working principle of cone crushers is based on crushing the material by compression rather than impact:

• The material passes through the top of the crusher, a fixed outer ring "concave" (konkeyv) with an inner cone-shaped structure rotating in an eccentric motion inside it "mantle" is fed between.
• The mantle oscillates in a circular orbit thanks to the eccentric shaft. During this motion, the space between the mantle and the concave (the crushing chamber) continuously expands and contracts.
• The material is crushed by being squeezed into the narrower side of the crushing chamber. When the gap widens again, the crushed material moves downward under the influence of gravity.
• This compression and release cycle is repeated repeatedly until the material reaches a size that can pass through the adjustable outlet opening (CSS - Close Side Setting) at the bottom of the crusher. This results in a homogeneous, cubic product.
