Single Shaft Mixer
Single-Shaft Mixers are economical and reliable forced-mix mixers, widely used in ready-mixed concrete and precast concrete production. Offering an excellent balance between performance and cost, these mixers are an ideal solution for medium-capacity concrete plants.
Efficient and Forced Mixing: How a Single Shaft Mixer Works
The operating principle of a single shaft mixer is based on the fact that mixing elements on a single horizontally placed shaft move the material in a forced orbit:
- When the material (aggregate, cement, water) is filled into the mixer drum, the horizontal shaft begins to rotate.
- Mixer arms and paddles placed at special angles on the shaft rotate the material around its own axis and move it back and forth through the bowl, creating a three-dimensional, helical (spiral) flow.
- This intense, continuous movement ensures that the ingredients collide and mix effectively. Scraper blades constantly clean the drum walls, preventing sticking and ensuring no dead zones remain.
- Thanks to this forced mixing, all components are homogeneously distributed in a short time, resulting in a high-quality concrete mix.
Advantages of Single Shaft Mixers
- Economical and Efficient:For low and medium capacity facilities, it offers a lower initial investment cost than Twin Shaft mixers.
- High Homogeneity:Thanks to its forced mixing principle, it easily provides the desired homogeneity and quality, especially in ready-mixed concrete applications.
- Easy Maintenance and Low Operating Cost:Fewer moving parts simplify maintenance and reduce wear parts costs. Large maintenance covers make internal cleaning and part replacement practical.
- Compact Design:It provides advantages especially in mobile and compact concrete plants, thanks to its footprint and low height.
