The planetary mixer's unique mixing performance comes from its "planetary" motion, from which it derives its name:
- At the center of the mixer is a main reducer. The mixing rotors (usually one to three) connected to this reducer rotate around their own axes.
- At the same time, these mixing stars also revolve around the center of the mixing vessel, just like the planets revolve around the sun.
- This dual (planetary) motion allows the mixing paddles to contact every point in the bowl in a very short time. This eliminates any "dead zones" where materials can remain unmixed.
- Additionally, a scraper arm continuously cleans the tub walls and bottom, preventing material from sticking and maintaining the integrity of the mix.
